I am happy to announce that we have pushed out a major v1.5 update for RW/Writer that includes a powerful new and simpler user interface for managing your RW/Writer web app accounts and clients. If we had one request it would be the ability to replace the static banner with a third party slider that occupied exactly the same space, but apart from that we’re sold on this great-looking theme that will make your websites look great.RW/Writer 1.5: Now with multiple blogs and unlimited clients!

Elsewhere, Rapidweaver 7 users can replace the existing banner with one of their own and if you’re comfortable with HTML, the theme includes some sweet animated effects for your content which will display as visitors scroll down the screen – there’s an online tutorial that explains how to do this.īlend is an excellent theme with a classy vibe that makes it suitable for building all manner of professional websites – from consulting to healthcare, from the legal profession to accountancy. There are options to disable the parents of sub-pages, hide the site logo, fade in the banner and you can also turn on a responsive lightbox which works well with Rapidweaver’s built-in Photo Album page when using the Gallery option. The theme includes 16 well-chosen body and heading fonts which are available in small, medium or large versions in addition you can control the header and content colours, the height of the included banner section and the alignment of content placed in the footer and sidebar (the last is also home to Blend‘s included social icons).

At a time when free-form themes like Foundation, Foundry, UIKit and Freestack R are proving so popular with Rapidweaver users, it’s kind of nice to find a theme that lets you get on with adding content, rather than playing with a blank canvas. There are far fewer options included with Blend than many other themes that we’ve seen recently, but because of the clever design decisions made by the author – Weaverthemes – in terms of colours, fonts, spacing and positioning of the various theme elements, Blend doesn’t feel restrictive instead it gives you an excellent, good-looking framework on which to build your website. At first we weren’t so keen on the extra clicks and taps required for menus like this, but we’re now coming round to the idea that the consistency they bring to site navigation can be a good thing.

Blend is an elegant theme with a distinctive pillar-style logo, title and sidebar area on the left which occupies the full height of the browser and a slinky, slide-out mobile menu on the right this menu stays the same whether you’re looking at the theme in desktop or mobile view.
